+For the final show, called locker room, my production role was sound. In addition I helped across the board during the pre-production process.
+
+\subsection{Supporting pre-production}
+
+\subsubsection{Puppet}
+
+During the pre-production process, after it was decided the show would be for children, someone mentioned the idea of using a puppet. Thinking it sounded like an interesting task, I volunteered to make the puppet to give us more control over its look (rather than buying a pre-made puppet).
+
+Talking through the features of the puppet with the producer and director, we decided on a humanoid but reasonably genderless puppet with a colourful skin tone. This was chosen to allow all children, regardless of background, to relate to the puppet. Despite this intention, It did end up having more of a masculine face shape after assembly. Should I do this again, I would take more care to keep this along the lines of what was discussed. The head was carved out of polystyrene and checked with the producer and director. It was then covered in a layer of small pieces of masking tape and cut into a 2D pattern. I did this to have as much control as possible over the head shape as possible.

+The pattern was cut out of 1" foam and glued back together into the puppets head. After talking with the producer regarding skin colors, we decided on something bright that wouldn't be too similar to the blue-green of the coloured lighting already decided on. I found a bright red fleece in a charity shop that I thought would be appropriate and fitted it to the puppet head. Bright blue wool was used as hair to contrast with the red.

+I created eyes out of some small pieces of plastic glued to a polystyrene ball cut in half. To give the eyes a lifelike shine, I first coated them in a thin layer of glue. A small eyelid made of the same felt was then glued to the eyes. The arms where created as thin tubes of fleece filled with rice to give them weight. A length of dowel was purchased to allow the puppeteer to move the hands around. For extra detail, and due to the sports theme, I gave Chase a sweatband.

+As supporting set-design, the team talked about a name-plate for Chase's desk, which I also agreed to make. Two pieces of thin wood where laser-cut with one cut with the text. This was spray-painted with gold to give the impression of brass and then attached to a larger block of wood.

+\subsubsection{Lighting}
+
+On the suggestion of Leah Tomas, while setting up the set for a practice session, I decided to make a custom gobo of the shows logo. After first converting the logo designed by Leah into a correctly proportioned design, this was cut out of 1 mm thick aluminium using the water-jet cutter on main campus.
+
+The unfortunate limitation of this is that due to the small size of the usable area of a gobo, and the size of the nozzle of the water-jet cutter, a minimum corner radius of 1 mm was required. This was unfortunate and prevented getting sharp, clean, lines on the projected logo.

+After this was done, I worked with Lighting (Jakob Hill) to help get the gobo setup, demonstrating how to do this should it be moved in the future.

+
+During the first 3 practice sessions, I stood in as the puppeteer, which gave me plenty of time to experience the show coming together and develop some ideas on how the show could sound. Talking with the Executive producer (Sioux Sharp), sound would obviously be a very large part of the tone of the show, which is important when considering our target audience.

+During week -, I put together a collection of potential sounds that could be used, playing these to the producer and director for feedback. With the puppeteer now on-set, I was free to use these in the run-though.
